FINDING A VISUAL LANGUAGE: GAIL WINBURY

Join us for an evening with acclaimed abstract painter and collage artist Gail Winbury, whose work explores the intersection of visual art, poetry, and human experience. A Westfield resident for nearly 40 years, Winbury has exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions at Kean University and the Wilson Museum. She is represented by Carter Burden Gallery in Manhattan and maintains a studio at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City.

Her interdisciplinary practice incorporates elements such as poetry, reflecting a longstanding interest in the relationship between visual art and human experience. Her residencies and fellowships include programs at the School of Visual Arts in New York, as well as in Italy and France. Her work has appeared in academic journals and is held in private and public collections worldwide, including Canary Wharf in London and Atlantic Health Systems in New Jersey. Winbury holds an MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and a doctorate in Psychology. She is also dedicated to community engagement through art.
